Mount Congreve Gardens announce Cliff as new hospitality and culinary operator

Mount Congreve recently underwent a €7m redevelopment, adding a new visitor centre and The Stables Café

Mount Congreve Gardens in Kilmeaden, Co Waterford, has announced Cliff as the new culinary operator at The Stables Café.

Cliff, comprised of well-known Irish hospitality brands including Cliff House Hotel, Michelin-starred House Restaurant, Cliff Beach House and Urchin in Ardmore, is, is also set to provide catering support for private events hosted in Mount Congreve House.

The announcement comes after Mount Congreve recently underwent a €7 million-redevelopment with the addition of a new visitor centre and The Stables Café.

Sara Dolan, commercial director at Mount Congreve Gardens, welcomed the partnership with Cliff.

“We officially opened at Mount Congreve Gardens on March 1st and we are thrilled that despite the inclement weather, visitors have come to explore our new experience in their droves,” Ms Dolan said.

“We aim to continue to build on attracting visitors from the region, across the country and internationally and we know that our Cliff hospitality partner match us in their vision, ambition and high standards of quality.”

The menu at The Stables Cafe is designed by Cliff executive chef Seán Smith, who previously spearheaded the award-winning Mill Restaurant located in Cliff at Lyons, Co Kildare.

Visitors can expect high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes, afternoon tea and grab-and-go options at the cafe. Launched by The Pantry at Cliff team, the menu is heavily influenced by Waterford’s “best food, drinks and ingredient producers”.

The chefs are also working with the new Mount Congreve School of Horticulture, which is restoring the walled gardens and growing fruit and vegetables for the café.

Working alongside Smith at Mount Congreve and heading the kitchen team is head chef Bruno Caveirina who worked for Cliff Townhouse in Dublin and most recently the award-winning 360 Cookhouse in Dungarvan. Caveirina will be joined by Nelson Saraiva as the new café manager.
