We've had a huge response to this year's Irish Times Amateur Photography Competition. View some of the entries here in the second of our weekly slideshows

Entries continue to roll in for this year's Irish Times Amateur Photography competition. The closing date of May 31st might seem like a long way off but it will arrive in no time so check out the microsite now. The competition seeks to recognise and reward the great work by passionate non-professional photographers throughout Ireland and beyond.

We have two main prizes of  €1,000 each for the photographer of the year and photograph of the year respectively.

This year thanks to Bermingham Cameras we will also have a voucher for €500 worth of camera equipment for a lucky reader who helps choose the People's Choice Prize – a new award to be chosen by reader's vote in early June.  The competition is open to all our readers in print and online, in Ireland and abroad, from serious hobbyists, "art photographers", photography and art college students,  to the casual snapper.
