Cork 2005: Europe is a source of inspiration for Eurochild, a week-long arts festival for children based at Tigh Fili Poets' House in MacCurtain Street.
Organised in collaboration with Euro École of Nantes and now in its 10th year, this begins on June 20th and incorporates a European Children's Parliament to be held at the City Hall on June 24th. The culmination of the festival will be the publication of the Eurochild Anthology, compiled, illustrated and edited by a Europe-wide selection of young people. Just before that, Féile na nGael runs from June 17th to 19th at GAA clubs throughout the county, hosting more than 1,000 children in a celebration of Gaelic games. Encouragement and inspiration for their sporting life is offered in the Liam McCarthy exhibition at Cork Public Museum, which continues until June 29th.
