The Luas will play a key role in a series of free gigs taking place in venues along its route this weekend.
The Redline Festival – named for the Luas line that runs from Connolly Station to Tallaght – is now in its third year, and will serve up sets by a number of rock’n’roll, garage, bluegrass and rockabilly artists and bands in The Dice Bar and Sin É, two live music venues that are linked by the tram tracks.
Sin É will host The Cujo Family, NC Lawlor, The Bonnevilles, T-Bone Kelly and Well Enough Alone across Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Dice Bar will see performances by Candy and the Creeps, The Wayward Sinners, Cheap Freaks, The Vagabonds, The Mosquitos and The Doo Wrongs on the same nights. The previous two years have seen The Cobblestone Bar also take part, but this year it is not involved. Organiser Jeremy Smyth said that patrons are guaranteed “a range of rocking music events, all free of charge.”
