One in five festivalgoers in Britain have experienced sexual assault or harassment at an event, according to a new study, rising to 43 per cent of women under 40. The most common forms of unwanted sexual behaviour experienced were unwelcome and forceful dancing and sexualised verbal harassment. Four per cent of female respondents had been assaulted while unconscious or asleep.
The Irish Times is looking to hear from Irish festivalgoers about their experiences. Have you experienced sexual harassment at a festival or other live event? What was the nature of the behaviour? Did you report it? How common do you think sexual harrassment is at such events? Have you had a different experience at a festival abroad to compare it to?
