Chandos members grew up in the town of Allston, Massachusetts, so it’s no surprise they have absorbed the musical DNA of their Boston compatriots Pixies and The Lemonheads. Throw in a dash of The Replacements and you have something approximating the trio’s sound.
Innovation is low on the agenda, but there are some great tunes – notably the chugging, chiming garage-rock of Temperance, the snot-nosed delivery of Cobra Points and the thrashy indie-rock tussle of Everyone's an Expert. Pretty Sure It's Tang Top bears more than a passing resemblance to Wave of Mutilation, but Chandos breeze through the songs with such a sense of abandon it's impossible not to get carried along – despite the sense of déjà vu.
