Trailer Trash Tracys

Trailer Trash Tracys use phrases such as "solfeggio harmonics" to describe their music. If that doesn't prepare you for the Londoners' debut album, little else will. It's an indisputable fact that the quartet's sound incorporates a degree of studied pretension, but at least these songs largely balance that affectation with some gorgeous melodies, hazy effects and Suzanne Aztoria's half-sighed vocals. Parallels with Angelo Badalamenti's Twin Peaksscore have already been drawn and are most accurate on the shimmering lullaby twang of Candy Girl.Yet elsewhere it feels like some tracks are just mismatched sounds thrown clumsily together in an effort to be cool. Esteris unbearably stuffy in places, but when Trailer Trash Tracys curb their posing, they make unusual, hypnotic music that intrigues more and more with each listen. See trailertrashtracys.com
