The gourmet chef from Queens, New York made his rep for raspy, snarky and playful licks with a clutch of champion mixtapes, EPs and the Fuck, That’s Delicious food series for Vice.
The quick-hitting, greasy rhymes and swaggering funk on those releases are also to the fore here on his major-label debut.
There are some heavyweight producers onboard for the trip like Oh No and Mark Ronson, but he’s also kept faith with The Alchemist, Statik Selektah and Party Supplies.
He also doesn’t stack the album too high with guest rappers so we get Bronson at the pass, serving up tracks which sizzle to a crisp with his trademark signatures.
There's the love of food and sport (Terry), the bitchy putdowns (Easy Rider) and the where-I'm-from throwdowns beloved of all rappers (Actin' Crazy). You won't be sending this one back to the kitchen.
