It’s been just over a month since Road Records closed its doors for good, but one independent promoter is determined to send the much-loved music shop off with a bang. Paul Timoney, who has run U:Mack Promotions for the past 15 years, has organised a Farewell to Road Records celebration, which will be held in The Button Factory next Friday, September 10th.

The Redneck Manifesto will headline the bash, and they’ll be joined by Female Hercules (who are reforming especially for the gig), Legion of Two, Patrick Kelleher and Cian Nugent.

“Road has been a huge part of my life since it opened,” said Timoney. “They sold tickets for all my concerts, helped me advertise them and advised me on acts they thought I should promote.

“Aside from the fact that it’s an incredible line-up at a really low price, having awesome parties as a way of dealing with sadness and loss is an Irish tradition – and this is going to be the party of the year.”
