Derry-based independent label Smalltown America is 10 this month, and to celebrate they will release a limited-edition vinyl-only run of the 10th instalment in its Public Service Broadcastcompilation series on October 24th, with new tracks from 10 bands.

Since its foundation in 2001, Smalltown America has been responsible for launching the careers of many successful Northern Irish bands, including Oppenheimer, Fighting With Wire and And So I Watch You From Afar.

“I had no idea that [the label] would grow into what it has become,” founder Andrew Ferris says. “I don’t think anyone can predict what happens in business – particularly the music business – but I definitely see that because we began life as a digital platform, that has been to our advantage. What makes me proudest is that we’re still signing great new bands, and that people care enough to support by spending their money with us.” smalltownamerica.co.uk
