When it comes to fun family- style games, few can beat Nintendo. With Wii PartyNintendo has stuck to its tried- and-tested formula of mini- games. Similar to Sports, Sports Resortand Wii Play, Wii Partythrows you into a number of challenges designed to pit your wits and skills against another player. The games vary from the great (Boat Balance) to the verging-on-dull (virtual board game, anyone?). But there are more than 80 mini-games to work through, each featuring your own personally created Wii characters. With room for up to four Wii Remotes to take part, the game is suited to party playing, family nights in or just one-on-one battles. If you're short a few players, you can have the AI fill in for missing players. However, like most games of this genre, the main fun comes from crushing your opposition.
