Outlandis an elegant platform game in the mould of Prince of Persia(the old-school version) and more recent gems such as Limbo. Mercifully short on exposition, it opens with some mumbo jumbo about destiny and sci-fi mixed with fantasy. You're an agile hero, a lanky silhouette who must traverse a jungle, fending off giant insects and strange, icky traps. You alternate between blue and red (or "light" and "dark") personas, and your different selves can do different things – some platforms can only be reached while you're a certain colour and some enemies can only be killed when you're the right colour. You can also use environmental elements (such as traps) to take out enemies, which is pretty nifty. Outlandmight not be sophisticated, but anyone with a yen for the genre should take a punt. Fans of pan pipe music will probably like it too.
