The battle between Move and the Kinect continues, with Kung-Fu Liveattempting to add innovation to the motion-control game. In fairness, it doesn't use a Move controller, only the camera, and it is ambitious. Before play you must go through an arduous set-up: watching screen after screen of instructions, adjusting where you stand and (in my case) moving furniture. Once you begin, it's a comic book story: You protect an ancient painting and stop a mystical Asian curse. The PS3 Eye scans a video of you doing kung-fu moves, which is slotted into the screen where your video fights 2D villains. It's a nice idea, but a frustrating game to play. I was constantly looking sideways at my avatar while trying to point my body to my left or right to swing at the bad guys. The result – random moves attributed, other ones ignored – was both annoying and exhausting. Don't try this at home! JOE GRIFFIN
