The idea of hanging out with some wild animals may be a little intimidating in real life, but with Kinect Nat Geo TV, it’s more entertainment. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this will be a game along the lines of Kinect Joyride or Sports. Nat Geo TV is all about interacting in a stealthily educational way. It’s interactive TV, with eight episodes that combine fun and facts. The content is based around a bear named Brutus and host Casey Anderson, who between them will teach you a little bit about animals and the environment, all through a fun and entertaining medium. The minigames stop it feeling too much like an education, and the content itself is well produced. Another title in Kinect’s “playful learning” initiative, Nat Geo TV is a little more polished and engaging than the Sesame Street title. Eight episodes of 30 minutes each feels a bit too short, but there is the promise of other downloadable content to come in the future. You may even accidentally learn something.
