The future is here. Eagle-eyed readers will have noticed that advertisements for Mathieu Amalric's On Tourin this organ inform readers that the picture is available "on demand" from Curzon Cinemas.

Yes, indeed. Curzon On Demand allows punters to view the film from the lazy comfort of their couches and daybeds. Other films available on your computer include Rafi Pitts's fascinating The Hunterand Brian Welsh's searing In Our Name.

At the risk of sounding like an old grouch, we still think the cinema is the best place to see Amalric’s burlesque drama. Welsh’s film, a story of returning soldiers, is, however, not on release here. So the Curzon service does undoubtedly have its uses. See curzoncinemas.com
