The Amazing World of Gumballfrom Dublin-based Boulder Media has picked up four nominations for the annual Annie Awards.

Presented by the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association, the gongs are, with justifiable inevitability, often referred to as the animation Oscars. The happy TV series recently won the Bafta Children’s Award for best animation.

Annie nominations for best feature include Arthur Christmas, Kung Fu Panda 2and, controversially, The Adventures of Tintin. Is motion-capture really animation? The jury is still debating.
