The Irish Film Institute will be hosting a deserved tribute to the late Donal Gilligan – the talented cinematographer who died suddenly last year – at 6.10pm on May 30th.

The main presentation is to be Kevin Liddy's drama Country. The director will be on hand to discuss his collaboration with Donal. Speaking about the picture, the playwright and film-maker Conor McPherson said that it includes "some of the most beautifully lit cinematography ever produced in this country, rivalling the work of any of the world's greatest directors of photography". ifi.ie.
