Not even the most extreme elements can stop author June Caldwell. Delay, perhaps, but not stop. So when bad weather sadly whited out this year’s Ennis Book Club Festival, where her Irish Times Book Club podcast was supposed to have been recorded, the interview was swiftly accommodated by the Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival in the LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire, last week.

In the half-hour interview, the author of Room Little Darker discusses her acclaimed debut short story collection, her path to becoming a writer and her work in progress, a novel inspired by one of the women who went missing in Ireland more than 20 years ago.
