In so far as any news about Twitter is worth heeding, a diverting punch-up has been taking place between the Village Voiceand Ashton Kutcher, who recently took part in an advertisement raising awareness about child prostitution. The ad argued that as many as 100,000- 300,000 children become prostitutes every year. The New York magazine pointed out that, over the past decade, there have been only a little over 8,000 arrests for the relevant offence in the US.
Kutcher tweeted: “Hey @villagevoice, speaking of data, maybe you can help me . . . How much $ did your ‘escorts’ in your classified on backpage make last year?” Not a bad point, actually.
