A cricket-themed concept album

Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy and Thomas Walsh of Pugwash are collaborating on a concept album based around cricket

Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy and Thomas Walsh of Pugwash are collaborating on a concept album based around cricket. Dubbing themselves The Duckworth-Lewis Method (a cricketing term), the pair first met in 2006, when Hannon contributed to a Pugwash charity single.

Realising they shared a common interest in the sport, the album has gestated for several years, and is now being recorded in Dublin.

“We have certain goals we want to achieve with the release date, so before the commencement of the 20/20 World Cup and the Ashes Series [in June] makes sense,” said Walsh (Duckworth).

“Lewis (Hannon) has a great team working for the cause too, so in the spirit of the new world cricketing order, this will be a true joint venture.”
