Analytics company Numerix has announced it will create 30 jobs over three years at its new office in Dublin, while GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) will recruit 50 people in Sligo this year.

Numerix, a provider of cross-asset analytics for derivatives valuations and risk management, will recruit employees with backgrounds in financial engineering, financial analytics development, law and accounting.

The company will start hiring immediately but says it will fill the positions over the next three years.

“We’re seeking a labour force comprised of high level professionals in the area of financial engineering, financial analytics development, quality assurance, quantitative first and second-tier support, as well as personnel with backgrounds in legal and accounting domain knowledge,” said Steven O’Hanlon, the company’s chief executive and president.

The company said it was drawn to the qualified pool of employees in Ireland and plans to expand its operations here.

Global healthcare company GSK announced it is recruiting 50 permanent and temporary employees at its manufacturing site in Sligo in 2015, half of whom have already been hired.

The company seeks employees across a range of disciplines, including engineering, quality, technical, logistics, finance and project management. New employees will be offered fixed term contracts of up to 18 months.

The recruitment drive will increase the total number of people employed at the site to 250 by the end of the year. The company employs 1,500 people across four locations in Ireland.
