UCD Smurfit School moves up five places in business school rankings

College is now in 24th place in FT’s rankings, versus 36th spot two years ago

The business school has climbed five places in the 2017 rankings to 24th

The UCD Smurfit School has continued its rise up the FT’s European Business School Rankings after breaking into the top 30 colleges last year.

The business school has climbed five places in the 2017 rankings to 24th, up from 29th spot in 2016, and 36th two years ago.

The ranking, now in its 14th year, measures performance in postgraduate business programmes, covering MBAs, executive MBAs, master’s degrees in management, and both customised and open-enrolment executive education.

"UCD Smurfit School continues to benchmark itself against the very best business schools both in Europe and throughout the world so we are pleased to see ongoing progress in this prestigious independent ranking," said Prof Anthony Brabazon, dean of UCD Business.

Separately, the business school’s full-time MSc in international management was, ranked 15th globally in the FT’s rankings in October. Earlier this year, its MSc in finance was positioned 36th in the world with Smurfit Executive Development Open Enrolment programmes in 48th spot globally.
