LEADING IRISH recruiter Premier Group has rebranded itself Morgan McKinley and announced plans to create 75 jobs at its Dublin and Cork offices over the next 18 months.

It plans to invest €1 million in the rebrand, which will result in its Premier, Verkom and Brunel businesses changing their names.

But its La Crème and Accreate brand names will be retained.

Morgan McKinley is already used by Premier in its overseas locations. It was acquired by the Irish company in 2008 as part of its €60 million acquisition of the then listed recruitment group Imprint.

After a couple of difficult years due to the economic slowdown, Premier’s chief executive Pat Fitz-gerald told The Irish Times that the company’s fees here will rise by about 20 per cent this year.

“Our Irish business is growing again but from a low base,” he said. “The timing of this rebrand . . . reflects our confidence in the Irish economy and jobs market as we see it start to stabilise from the very low base of job opportunities reached last year.”

Mr Fitzgerald said Ireland would be the “central hub” of its global operations.

“Our international business is growing very rapidly and our global shared services centre in Cork will create quite a number of the new jobs.

“We also recently started a new transformation/innovation team, which is really looking at how we can change the sector on a global basis. That’s exciting and it will be based in Ireland, with quite a few senior people.”

The new jobs will bring staff numbers at Premier back to pre-recession levels of about 230.

Morgan McKinley has 24 offices globally. It specialises in banking and financial services, commerce and industry, professional services, public sector and not for profit.
