When Twitch launched a few years back, it didn't seem possible that a live streaming video platform where you watched people play videogames could be sustainable. The fact is, it grew fast, gained a huge userbase and then Amazon. com swooped in and acquired it. It even has famous users including actor Thomas Middleditch (of Silicon Valley fame).
If there is a market for watching people build stuff in Minecraft or blast each other's faces off in Call of Duty then surely there's a niche for watching animators or comic book artists do their thing? Sywork (Show Your Work) is a platform for artists to live stream as they work; it's divided into categories (3D modelling, illustration, animation and traditional art). I have a feeling this will remain niche but I can see big interest in getting, say, Marvel comic book artists to do live portraits or have art students showcase their talents.
