What’s so special about the Sky Soundbox? Well it depends. If you are on board with the pay TV company’s latest offering Sky Q, you’ll have a range of automatic audio modes at your disposal that automatically enhance the sound for a range of Sky content.
Otherwise, it’s a single box surround sound system created in partnership with Devialet, with six woofers and three full-range speakers packed in. According to Sky, the box uses the walls of the room to bounce sound around and give the impression of a full surround sound system.
It also has special modes to enhance dialogue, dial back the bass for night viewing or give parents control over the maximum volume.
If you’re already a Sky Q customer, the Sky Soundbox will set you back €299. For regular Sky customers, it’s an extra €50 on top of that, and if you aren’t already paying the company in some form, it’ll be an eye-watering €949 for the Soundbox.
