TELECOM RESULTS:Losses narrowed at telecoms software firm Aran Technologies in 2010, the company's accounts have revealed. The company reported a loss of €161,922 in its most recent accounts, compared with a loss of €11.4 million the previous year.

Turnover for the year was €35.3 million in 2010, up from €28.6 million a year earlier. Pretax profit was jut under €1.1 million, compared with an €11.2 million loss in 2009.

However, the 2009 accounts incurred a €10.2 million exceptional charge for share- based transactions, when all share options were valued and exercised.

Arantech, which provides customer experience management solutions for mobile providers, was bought by Tektronix Communications in 2009. Orders grew in 2010, with the company now selling its products in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America.

The company said it was confident of “significant expansion” in 2012 as it won new business and capitalised on its relationship with Tektronix.
