You may have assumed that the iPad Mini would be threatened by the arrival of the iPhone 6 Plus, but you'd be wrong. Apple has updated the pint-sized tablet to include a few extras. TouchID, seen in the iPhone 5S and the new batch of iPhones, has made it to the Mini, so you can unlock your device and buy apps without having to enter your password.
The chip is the same – the 64-bit A7 that was in the iPad Mini 2 – and the camera, display and even battery life are the same. Where the Mini 3 has made a leap is in capacity. You can still buy the 16GB version, but it now comes in 64GB and 128GB too.
