AN IRISH-owned software company says it could help reduce public sector security costs using time-saving video analysis technology it has developed.

Forensic video analysis firm Kinesense has collaborated with Enterprise Ireland on the technology, which allows users to search through surveillance footage using filters to pinpoint certain activity.

“The software that we have developed works like a video search engine, allowing the user to quickly find the key events using search filters,” said Kinesense’s chief technology officer Mark Sugrue.

The company claims its technology could help reduce State costs in this area by up to 95 per cent. Official figures show a rising incidence of burglaries putting strain on State security resources.
