Builders merchanting and DIY group Grafton, which operates the Woodie's chain in Ireland and also has operations in Britain, Belgium and the Netherlands, has acquired Allsand Supplies for an undisclosed sum.

Allsands is a single-branch general builders merchanting business located in Larkfield, Kent. It reported revenues of £6 million in the year ending March 31st, 2015.

“This bolt-on acquisition enhances market coverage and complements the existing branch network in the south east of England,” Grafton said in a statement.

The acquisition is one of a number of deals done by Grafton in recent months, which Davy Stockbrokers noted, have mainly generated above group-average margins.

Davy forecast the various acquisitions would add about £10 million to the group’s trading profit in 2015, equivalent to 50 per cent of expected year-on-year growth.
