Waste manager the City Bin Co plans to take on Greyhound in the Dublin market.
The company will announce plans today to enter the Dublin City Council waste collection market.
In a bid to persuade householders to switch to its service, it is offering the first 5,000 cu stomers who sign up a flat rate of €99 for bin collections in 2013.
The City Bin Co already operates domestic waste collection services in the South Dublin County Council area.
Co-founder and chief executive Gene Browne pledged yesterday that the company would “bring a level of customer service and satisfaction previously unseen by people in Dublin city”. He added that only two in every 1,000 of its existing customers leave the company.
Mr Browne founded the firm in Galway in 1997. It has operations there, where it serves domestic, industrial and commercial customers, and in south Dublin.
Earlier this month the Irish group announced that Middle East-based Averda is investing €15 million in its business in a move that will create 35 jobs. Averda has operations in Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and others.
