Carechoice to create 200 new jobs in north Dublin

Retirement and nursing home group Carechoice is to create 200 jobs with the opening of a new purpose-built 165-room facility in north Dublin .

The company, which currently employs 400 people, operates five homes across Cork and Waterford and provides care for approximately 338 residents.

Carechoice’s new facility is based on the Malahide Road. The company said it has also recently submitted planning permission for another 165-bed facility in Swords.

The new jobs being created include nurses; health care assistants; managers, activity leaders and catering staff. The group said it expected a further 500 temporary jobs to be created during the construction phase

Carechoice, which was acquired by Emerald Investment Partners for around €30 million in December, had profits of more than €2 million last year. Earnings before interest, tax and write-offs (ebitda) were €4 million.

"We are excited to bring Carechoice to Dublin, and the opening of this 165-bed facility today marks the first phase of an exciting time of expansion for our group," said chairman Jimmy Tolan.
