Sales of Audi cars in Ireland grew 8.6 per cent in the first three months of the year, compared to the same period in 2013.
With 2,235 new vehicles sold in the first quarter, the German manufacturer maintained its position as the number one high-end car brand in the Irish market, with a 34.5 per cent premium market share.
Audi accounts for 4.5 per cent of the total Irish car market so far this year.
Figures from Motorcheck.ie published earlier this week show a total of 49,617 new cars were sold in the first three months of the year, up 25.4 per cent on the same period last year.
The Audi A3 saloon was a particularly strong performer, with sales growing 66 per cent year-on-year.
Managing director of Audi Ireland Christian Gussen said the company's success could be attributed to the boost in consumer confidence among Irish motorists, the strength of Audi's personal finance plans, as well as the popularity of the Audi A3 saloon and their flagship A8 model.
“Our continued commitment to first class customer service and the arrival of exciting new models including the A3 Cabriolet and the Audi TT later this year ensures that we are well positioned for more sustainable growth in 2014,” he added.
