The family-owned McMahon Healthcare group will shortly open its second nursing home, Cairnhill, in Bray, which will create 120 jobs in the Wicklow seaside town over the next three months.

The 90-bed purpose-built facility was built with financial backing from Bank of Ireland. The McMahon family, 10 of whom work in the business, also run a 42-bed Cairnhill nursing home in Foxrock, south Dublin.

The company says the new jobs will cover a range of positions in nursing, administration, catering and support systems. It said Cairnhill Bray is “on track” to be the first nursing home in Ireland to achieve Joint Commission International (JCI) quality accreditation.

McMahon Healthcare is working with Health Care Informed, a Galway-based consultancy, to help it achieve the accreditation.
