Cardtronics, a Nasdaq-listed company that provides ATM services, has launched its first ATM in the Republic.
The company, which operates more than 15,500 cash machines in the UK, plans to install ATMs in retail outlets and garage forecourts across Ireland under the "Cashzone" banner.
Its first "Cashzone" branded machine was installed inside a convenience store in Dromiskin near Dundalk, and saw its first transaction earlier this month.
"Our experience both in Europe and globally means we are very well positioned to establish a market for independent ATMs in the Republic of Ireland," Tim Halford, commercial director UK and Ireland at Cardtronics Europe, said.
