Last day on the job today for Vincent Crowley, the outgoing chief executive of Independent News & Media (INM), who leaves after a quarter of a century at the company. Put your feet up, Vincent. You can doss today.
Indo announced during the week that the company will be run by a sub-committee of the board, comprising chairman Leslie Buckley and non-execs Triona Mulane, Alan Marshall and Terry Buckley.
They will remain in place pending the appointment of a new boss.
Crowley’s payoff will be limited to a maximum of one year’s pay, which for 2013 topped out at €1 million including bonuses and such like.
I hear his going-away party is tonight in the Ely venue just off the river, not far from Indo HQ.
Crowley was one of the last links to the old O’Reilly regime at the top level in the company. All has changed and (you know the rest) . . .
