Busy securing business during the Irish Exporters Association trade mission was the Cork-based calibration management software firm CompuCal Calibration Solutions Ltd, which announced a tie-up with the Shanghai-based Pharm- Eng Technology.
“We needed to be ready for the market. I came here with the guys to get in touch, to go through the system and run through the software and explain how it works,” said Matthew Dornan, technical director of CompuCal.
The company produces calibration management software for use in industries such as life science, oil and gas, power generation and manufacturing. The software is web based and can be provided as an on-site solution for larger customers and online-hosted version for small to medium-sized ones.
Connections
PharmEng's association with CompuCal's long-term partners Enadress+Hauser had been a deciding factor in establishing the partnership, he said.
CompuCal calibration management software will now be available to buy in the Chinese marketplace, under the direction of PharmEng Technology’s Albert Wang.
"Our connections in Shanghai will allow us to bring CompuCal to a whole new customer base and we are confident that this partnership will help us to develop further links between the Irish and Chinese business communities," said Mr Wang.
CompuCal also signed up a customer on the trade mission, the sensor designer and manufacturer, Measurement Specialities (MEAS) Galway.
MEAS, which has a 25,000sq m manufacturing plant in Shenzhen, has confirmed it will implement CompuCal’s software in both its Galway facility and in its Chinese partner’s facility in Suzhou.
