More than half of businesses in the capital have taken on additional staff since last year, according to a new survey from Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

The organisation’s latest Business Trends Survey also reveals that two out of five companies are planning to increase employee numbers over the next three months.

The survey of 350 business leaders finds that Dublin-based companies are feeling optimistic about the future with 63 per cent of firms revisiting their business plans due to anticipated growth.

"It is encouraging to see such strong levels of confidence from businesses in Dublin," said the organisation's president Greg Clarke.

According to the Chamber’s survey, the three most popular trends among respondents were developing an online/mobile sales channel, fostering a culture of innovation and rebranding their business of product.
