Three multinational companies are to create 75 jobs in Ireland, setting up new operations in Laois, Galway and Longford.
The new jobs were brought to Ireland through ConnectIreland, the company responsible for delivering the Government’s Succeed in Ireland initiative, as part of the Action Plan for Jobs. Companies are referred to ConnectIreland by a registered “connector”, who facilitates contact with ConnectIreland’s foreign direct investment team.
The bulk of the positions will be created by the Magni group, which is establishing a new manufacturing plant and research and development laboratory near Portalington. The Michigan-based company operates an automotive coating business and has a paint business in Mallow, Co Cork. The facility, which will include a 40,000 sq ft factory that can be expanded to 80,000 sq ft over five years, will employ 50 people.
Florida headquartered Flagship Management will create 15 jobs over three years as it locates its EMEA headquarters of its maritime consultancy and recruitment business at Kinvara, Co Galway. The facility will provide consultancy and recruitment services to maritime companies operating in the North Sea and Gulf regions, and look at the expanding German and continental European markets.
The final 10 jobs will be created in Co Longford as Ark Energy Consulting expands its operation to Ireland from Italy.
Announcing the new positions this morning, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the jobs were a very welcome boost for the local communities.
“Every job that is created through ConnectIreland, under the Succeed in Ireland Initiative, is a job that may not have come to Ireland without the intervention of a ‘connector’. Whether it is individual connections like this or wider Government strategy, our message is: Ireland is open for business and a great location for inward investment,” he said.
