One of the oldest buildings in Clontarf, Dublin 3, Verville Retreat on Vernon Avenue and an adjoining site with planning permission for a residential development is back on the market from today at a guide price of €3.6 million.

Rory Breen of agent Cushman & Wakefield is handling the sale of the former retreat house and an adjoining site of 0.53 of a hectare (1.3 acres) with planning permission for a mixture of 19 apartments and houses.

Verville Retreat extends to 1,600sq m (12,600sq ft) and is due to be converted into six apartments: two one-beds, one two-bed, and three three-beds.

There is also permission to convert the gate lodge into a two-bed mews. The planners have also given approval for the development of a further 12 homes: eight three-storey three-bedroom units and four three-storey detached dwellings. The site is also expected to accommodate 23 surface car-parking spaces.
