Sale on the menu at Coopers Restaurant in Leeson Street

The well-known Coopers Restaurant at Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2, goes for sale from today at €750,000.

The two-storey cut-stone building is in exceptional condition after undergoing an extensive refurbishment programme, according to selling agent Stephen McCarthy of Savills.

The business has been run for about 10 years by hotelier Peter Stokes of Castle Durrow, Co Laois.

Open plan
Coopers can seat 124 diners in an open-plan configuration on two levels and, according to the selling agent, the next owner may change the layout to suit a range of restaurant themes and styles.

The building has a ground floor area of 173sq m (1,915sq ft) and a further 83sq m (893sq ft) upstairs.

McCarthy says he is expecting a high level of inquiries because of the scarcity of restaurant buildings in high-profile areas of the south inner city.
