Primark unveiled its new international headquarters on Parnell Street in Dublin 1 last week.

Arthur Ryan House, named in honour of Primark's founder and chairman Arthur Ryan, was officially opened by Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Interior design and architectural practice, MoreySmith, oversaw the transformation of 22-24 Parnell Street into 11,613sq m (125,000sq ft) of offices to house the company’s 600 headquarters staff.

The buildings, acquired by Primark in 2011, included a listed heritage property and a 2002 office block.

These have now been integrated by a standout central atrium space which aims to encourage informal meetings and create a buzzy centre for employees and visitors complete with a deli-style cafe.

A number of bridges create a sense of movement with employees able to move freely between work areas and floors.

The open-plan office space features more than 40 meeting rooms, eating facilities and a gym for employees.

“An open-plan layout, wide vistas, the use of glass and fully exposed floors also help promote face-to-face contact which research has shown plays a major role in the health, wellbeing and productivity of workers,” according to Primark.

Paul Marchant of Primark is "delighted with our amazing international HQ in Dublin. The end result is transformational, not only through changing our ways of working, but also in creating the opportunity for cross-functional interaction. Our offices are now a true representation of our brand – contemporary, energetic and fun."

Primark operates 293 stores in 10 countries. Its first US store opened in Boston this month and a first store in Italy is expected to open in 2016.
