The landmark Lenehans hardware store in Rathmines, Dublin 6, is to be sold because of the impending retirement of its owners.

Hugh Markey and Emma Coffey of Lisney are inviting offers in excess of €1 million for the shop which was opened by the Lenehan family in the 1950s as an offshoot of its main business on Capel Street.

The premises with 12.5 metres of frontage on to Rathgar Road is comprised of two interconnecting two-storey buildings with a rear yard.

The ground floor extends to 256 s q m (2,757 s q ft) with a further 929 sq m (1,000 sq ft) of storage at first-floor level.

The shop is particularly well located close to the junction of Lower and Upper Rathmines Road and Rathgar Road, one of the main arterial routes into the city centre.
