Latest accounts for a company associated with Charlie Chawke’s The Goat pub in Dublin show that its accumulated profits rose by 7.7 per cent in the year to the end of March 2012.
Abridged accounts for Charjon Investments Ltd, show it had accumulated profits of €1.46 million at the close of the 12-month period. This compared with a surplus of €1.35 million a year earlier.
Charjon had shareholders’ funds of just under €2 million at the end of March 2012. In addition to its link with The Goat, Charjon holds 20 per cent of the voting rights in Milltown Inns Ltd, which operates the Dropping Well pub in south Dublin.
The financial statements also show transactions during the year with the Lord Lucan in the southwest of the city, another pub run by Mr Chawke and his family. Mr Chawke recently added to his pub interests in the capital by taking over Searsons of Baggot Street, near Ballsbridge, that had been closed for some time.
