Sixty-five jobs are to go in Dublin in a shake-up at technology services company Banta Global Turnkey.

The company announced yesterday that it would be consolidating its Irish operations into its two locations in Cork and Limerick.

The move will mean the closure of its Dublin facility with the loss of 65 jobs.

However, a statement from the company yesterday said the change would create some new positions in Cork, some of which could be filled by workers transferring from Dublin.

Around 800 jobs will remain in the company.

Banta said the decision was necessary to maintain the competitiveness of its Irish businesses.

A statement added that the company made the decision following a review of its future capacity requirements here.
