A man who abducted his baby son after getting early release from prison is still missing today.

A man who abducted his baby son after getting early release from prison is still missing today.

Gardaí are today continuing their search for the man, who took his one-year-old son from his former partner’s home in Co Wicklow at around midnight on Sunday.

The man has not been named and no description of him has been issued to the public, but the gardaí are aware of his identity.

The man was missing with the child for most of Monday, but was eventually spotted by gardaí.

After following his car for three hours gardaí used a stinger device to deflate the tyres in the man’s car in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He escaped from the car on foot, while his son was found unharmed in the back seat. The child was reunited with his mother soon after.

Gardaí are concentrating their search for the missing man in Co Wicklow, but gardaí at stations throughout the State have been issued with a description of him and are on the lookout.
