Appeal over Donegal burglary

Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary involving four men which occurred at a property in Co Donegal this morning.

Three men armed with firearms entered the house at Kinnego near Buncrana at 9am and threatened a woman and her children. Nobody was injured.

The raiders took an amount of cash from the house and stole the family’s Audi A6 car, which they drove towards Bridgend.

The car, registration number 09 Dl 2621, was found abandoned in Derry at around 10am.

A man in his 30s was arrested near the family’s house shortly after the incident. He was driving a silver Nissan Almera with the registration number CZJ2195.

He was taken to Buncrana Garda Station where he is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Gardaí have asked anyone who may have seen the Audi or Nissan cars in the Buncrana and Bridgend to contact them at Buncran Garda station on (074) 9320540 or to call the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
