The Irish designer Olwen Bourke has designed frocks for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing for four years, and now does some work for the Royal Opera House. She launches a new ethical fashion website next month.
Her first collection, called Paradise Lost, inspired by jungles, feather and Japanese silkscreen prints, uses found and reclaimed materials to create one-off, luxury pieces. Many of her dresses, in hand-dyed silk, cotton, wool and leather, are embellished with elaborate motifs made in her London studio. Next year she will launch an off-the-peg range at more affordable prices. See olwenbourke.com.
